Kyle Timothy Blood has owned his own interior-design business since 1999.
Today, Kyle Timothy Home, LLC serves clients in The Hamptons,
Manhattan, and Westchester County. In order to oversee projects,
to be on hand at job sites, and to facilitate his clients needs,
Kyle Timothy maintains offices in both New York City and East Hampton.
In the summer of 2006 (within three months of opening his business in the Hamptons),
Kyle Timothy was invited to participate in the Hamptons Cottages & Gardens Idea House,
in which he designed three separate bathrooms, all with distinct palettes and sensibilities.
His bathrooms brought him acclaim among the Hamptons design industry and spawned several
current projects, both in the Hamptons and in Manhattan.
He has been published in both The New York Times and Hamptons Cottages & Gardens.
Kyle previously worked in publishing for ten years, at Forbes, Country Living,
and Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where he served as the Product Development Manager
for the Martha Stewart SignatureTM line of home furnishings, including: upholstery and
case goods by Bernhardt; soft- and hard- flooring by Shaw Industries;
fabrics from P. Kaufmann; and paints by Sherwin-Williams. He also headed the
packaging division for the Martha Stewart EverydayTM line of products currently
sold at Kmarts nationwide.
Kyle Timothy attended Dartmouth College, majoring in French and
Art History. There, he earned a Fulbright teaching assistantship, and
spent a year in Paris teaching English as a foreign language while
pursuing French Culture courses. He studied Interior Design at the
New York School of Interior Design.
He grew up on Penobscot Bay in Maine, where many artists have
established their studios, drawing inspiration from the rugged coastline
and the unique architectural vernacular. Penobscot Bay also encompasses
Dark Harbor, where Sister Parish had a summer home and where her family
still maintains the property.
He is also a Contributing Editor to Hamptons Cottages & Gardens,
having produced, styled, and written stories for the past four summers.
And he is the design editor for the newly launch e-zine, thefamilygroove.com,
for trendy parents and their homes.
